Dentures (Bridges and Partial)

What is a Denture?

Custom made, removable and affordable Denture Dubai can restore an individual’s bright and healthy Hollywood smile in Dubai, due to tooth loss. Dentures are made of acrylic plastic and sometimes porcelain and metal materials. A denture closely resembles natural gum tissue and teeth.  Complete dentures replace all teeth that are missing,  while partial dentures fill in a few gaps that are created by a few missing teeth and prevent other teeth from shifting as a result of tooth loss. An immediate denture is inserted on the same day, immediately following the removal of the natural teeth. The immediate denture acts as a band-aid to protect the gum tissue and reduce bleeding after tooth extraction. The conventional denture is  placed in the mouth several weeks after the tooth extraction is performed and the gum tissue has healed.

Who makes a good candidate for a denture?

Dentures are not just for seniors, people of all ages can suffer partial or extensive tooth loss and may require a denture of some sort. Individuals who have lost most or all of their teeth often make good candidates for complete dentures, while patient’s with some remaining natural teeth may benefit from partial dentures.

What is the treatment process for a denture?

At the Montreal International Clinics in Dubai, the dentures are fabricated from impressions taken by our dentist. The dentist will make sure that the color, shape, and fit of the denture are accurate and blend in well with the natural teeth. It is common for patients to take a few weeks to adjust to their dentures, alias their new teeth. Patients may experience soreness or minor irritation during this time, minor changes in facial appearance and increased salivary flow, but most patients are able to resume speaking normally within a few hours. Also, eating an and chewing food with the new dentures will take a little practice and getting used to and it is best to start with soft, easy-to-chew food.

How do you take care of your dentures?

Dentures are delicate, so it’s important to be cautious and careful when handling them, especially when taking them off and putting them back on again. The denture should be removed and brushed daily using denture cleanser, toothpaste and a toothbrush. When not in use, dentures should be placed in a denture cleanser or water and stored in a safe and convenient location. Never use boiling water to sterilize the denture, because it can cause the denture to lose its shape.

It is important to continue having regular dental checkups with your dentist in Dubai, so that he can examine the oral tissues for signs of oral diseases. In order to maintain a proper fit over time it may be necessary to adjust your denture or possibly remake your denture, as recommended by our dentist.
