Zirconium Crowns Dubai; Montreal International Clinic
Zirconium crowns or dental caps are the strongest type of dental crown. It is made to completely envelope a broken tooth or titanium dental implant. It functions specifically to withstand the wear and tear of biting and chewing. Zirconium itself is a strong, white material that is 100% biocompatible with the human body and is used in different surgeries in different parts of the body.
Zirconium crowns can be used to cover and strengthen a tooth that has been broken, or on top of an inserted dental implant screw to replace the tooth. Zirconium is indistinguishable from your other teeth and provide perfect support over an implant or on top of a broken tooth. In some cases, a zirconium bridge can be used to cover the gap created by missing teeth if the teeth before and after the gap are healthy. The same technique is used in the all on four dental implant procedure, where 4 titanium dental implants are used to carry the entire row of zirconium crowns (upwards of 12 teeth.)
Typically, zirconium crowns treatments are completed in two visits, during the first visit, a dentist will take the patient’s dental impressions, and send them to the lab for a customized zirconium crown. A temporary crown may be set during that first visit if needed till the permanent one is ready. During the second visit, typically a few days later, the zirconium permanent crowns are set. The advantages of a zirconium crown versus earlier materials such as silica, alumina, metal fused or gold crowns are that its naturally white so coloring it to the specifications of the patient’s other teeth is easy. It is very strong, strong enough to be used on the molars and back teeth for chewing and that it is 100% biocompatible and non abrasive to opposing teeth.
